Gas Springs

Code: GASS

DETERMINING THE CORRECT GAS SPRING

F1 = G x L + 50 n
B x X

F1 = Force required in newtons ie. xxx - xxx / 500 n

G = Weight of flap in newtons (kg x 10)

L = Centre of gravity of flap ie. length of flap divided by 2 then add 10%

B = Power Arm
Either: Distance from flap pivot to spring mounting centre OR 85% of spring stroke. To calculate stroke when B is known add 18% to B

X = No. of springs (generally 2 per flap)
